CPF Exam Statistics- How tough it is:
Number of candidates in UPSC CPF exam
How tough is CPF Exam? How many candidates appear for CPF exam and how many gets selected? To answer this question I went through the most recent UPSC Annual reports and the findings are as below:

As you can see from the statistics at right – the CPF exam is indeed competitive: only about 2.0 persons per hundred who appeared in the CPF written exam gets to appear in Interview. But once if you reach the Interview stage, the prospect is much brighter:  close to 45 per hundred who appears in the interview is selected. But most of the applicant actually never appears in the exam after applying for UPSC CPF exam, as you can see - only about 56% of those who applies, actually appears in the exam. So most of your competitors are eliminated in the application stage only.

Selection Process for CAPF Assistant Commandants:
Selection Process for Assistant Commandants in CAPF consists of a 450 mark written test followed by Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests/Medical Standards Tests and than Interview/Personality Test of 150 marks.
